Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.
Over the past 7 years Kate and I built a dream for our family in a little town called Kiah, just south of Eden on the NSW south coast. We were hoping it would provide holidays and memories that would last generations and eventually could be our little retirement piece of paradise. Unfortunately on January 4 one of Australia's worst bushfires destroyed that dream. We were unable to find anyone that would insure the land and building and except for the government cleanup assistance (for which we are extremely grateful) it now it seems we will be getting very little if anything from any of the charities to which most, if not all, of you have donated to.
Those who know us well know just how hard we've worked to get it almost to completion and to have it taken away has been absolutely heartbreaking
We were hoping to rebuild within the next 12-18 months but we are going to need some help to get back anywhere close to what we had.
$30,000 would get the basic little shack rebuilt, $40,000 would have the structure and most of the internal fittings etc $50,000 would have us back up and running almost fully to where we were.
I know its a massive ask to get close to the $50,000 but any assistance you could provide we would be extremely grateful.
We may down the track need some hands on assistance in the rebuild process and again we would be extremely grateful of any assistance anyone can provide.
If by chance we do pass the $50,000 mark we would use that money to assist the local community and businesses (for example the Kiah Store who although did not burn down has suffered financially) get back on their feet as you can imagine some of the locals are doing it extremely tough.
Thanking all of you Kieran and Kate Worland and our two boys Jak and Will.
