3d Printed PPE Houston
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ben Dutton .

I am a final year PhD student at NC State in Computer Science (Machine Learning, specifically). I am home with my family in Houston during the Covid-19 pandemic and have purchased two 3d printers and begun making masks and face shields (PPE) for those in need.

My family and I will donate masks or face shields for free to any front line personnel with a clear need - medical, police, grocery workers, delivery drivers, etc. or anyone that has a sick family member that they need to care for. BUT, our supplies are limited and we have to prioritize needs and we already have some important commitments. We have already supplied a few people locally for free with masks because they have some underlying health concerns and are in need of additional protection. We have also donated masks and face shields to the Briar Forest EMTs and have requests from Texas Children’s Hospital that are our biggest ongoing priorities.
The masks we are making are:
Montana Mask

Maker Mask (currently v4.10)

The shields we are making are:
Verkstan

The 359

If you know someone in West Houston/Katy in need of additional protection, please let us know their information (contact info below). For masks, they need to be clean shaven. If you’d like to help support this, there are a few things you can do. You can contribute to this gofundme if you’d like to help cover the costs of materials . Or, if you are in the area and have a somewhat technical background and would like to help in this effort by doing some 3d printing yourself, I could advise on a limited basis to get you started. I am trying to finish my dissertation (my biggest priority) and that gives me limited time. That aside, though, I’d be happy to help get you started and contributing.
Be safe and wise!
Ben
