Educators Printing Face Shields For Hospitals

Tax deductible
Want to join us in making a difference? We are a group of public educators raising funds to support the rapid development and donation of approved 3D printed face shields to health care providers.

Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga, Tennessee is home to the largest education Fab Lab network in the world. When our local hospitals and medical society expressed a need of up to 20,000 face shields, in addition to requests for thousands more across the southeast, our team of teachers and community volunteers quickly collected nearly 100 3D printers to begin farming parts for this critical PPE. We are now producing about 100 units per day, but we have the capacity to expand to up 350 units per day if we can purchase supplies in bulk.

Our local manufacturing association has helped negotiate the purchase of raw materials in mass, so our last remaining need is funding to help our health care providers.

The local newspaper ran the story (Times Free Press 3D Printed PPE) and the video is the from the first we launched the farm (3/26/2020). Every little bit helps. Thank you for supporting the men and women risking their lives to keep our communities safe.
