CNA Home Care For Andrew Parness
Donation protected
My name is Stephanie Parness Hitchings and I have an amazing brother. Andrew Michael Parness calls himself Mental Force and for good reason. In 2004, Andy was diagnosed with metastatic cancer of the liver. Andy was told that chemo was too risky but he opted to try 1 round against medical advice. After the chemo Andy got an infection, was septic and phone calls were made that Andy was not going to make it. Andy received IV antibiotics in the hospital and after overstaying his welcome, ripped out his IV and discharged himself to home when he started a regimen of eating completely clean and living a completely clean life style. By 2006 Andy was cured, removed himself from disability and went back to work. In 2009 our father was diagnosed with dementia from a brain bleed stroke unbeknownst to us that occurred 5 years prior. Andy continued to work and take care of Dad and look after mom who was also sickly. In 2013, Andy decided to leave his job and care for our parents full time. In 2014, our mom was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer. Andy had his hands full and was able to fulfill my parents wishes by keeping them at home and not moving them to assisted living or a facility. In 2015 Dad passed away and Andy moved into the home to care for mom who was still battling her cancer and deeply grieving over Dad after a 50 year marriage. Mom over the last year and half is declining rapidly, she fractured her neck this past summer and is down to 74 lbs and is showing signs of dementia. Once again Andy had his hands full. Andy grew very tired this past fall and started having a pain in his side. He thought he just pulled a muscle but on Christmas Day the excruciating pain came and after a trip to the ER was told of s large mass on his liver. A biopsy revealed it was Liver Cancer. We were sent to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa to meet with a surgeon to discuss 4 possible options: 1. Total Liver Transplant2. Liver Resection 3. Chemotherapy4. Clinical Trial Over the past month one by one Andy was turned away from each option. After multiple failed attempts to get pain prescriptions filled Andys pain was out of control and had to be admitted to hospice house for pain management. I will not go into the topic of him being flagged as a "drug seeker" here, but will address this topic in other forum. Andy was released from hospice house last week. He wants to be in his own home with his beloved dog Maddie. Andy is heavily medicated and having 24 hour CNA care in his home would allow him that wish that all would agree he deserves . Please Go Fund : Andrew Michael Parness. Mental Force.Thank You in advance for your donation. No amount is too small.God Bless. Xxoo
