Betty Motley is always there for other people. I like to call her "Sweet Ms. Betty". She raised her only son mostly on her own, she took care of her sweet mother for many years, and she took care of her dear friend, Sandy. There are numerous other people that she has been there for through the years. Betty now needs help from her friends and family. She fell on December 6. At that time, she dislocated her ankle, broke it in three places, and tore some ligaments. During the few days that I stayed with her, I noticed that she has some serious issues with her shower. It is leaking from the faucet and behind the wall. The entire shower needs to be removed to make sure all the mold has been remediated. She has been out of work since December 6, and she is not expected to return to work until March 9. She has short term disability, but it does not pay much. It will basically cover her mortgage payment. She should be able to cover most of her other bills. The money that is raised will be used to pay for a new handicap accessible shower and to repair the damage behind the wall. We think a handicap accessible shower is the best option for her now and in the future. If the money raised exceeds what is needed to replace the shower and fix the damage, the extra money will help her with her medical and other bills. I would love to see a huge outpouring of love for Betty, because she has blessed so many people. Just seeing her smile and hearing her laugh is enough to brighten anyone's day. I hope we can overwhelm her with our love and support. I know this would mean the world to Betty. She simply does not have the money to fix the bathroom, and no one should live with mold in their home. Let's show Betty how much we care about her. I would love to get the shower fixed before she comes home from the rehabilitation center. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help that you can provide.
