My 3 year old Morkie was bitten by another dog. Rascal had his first surgery on Feb 2nd, all went ok and stitched up. Infection set in and the vet that did the surgery said to wait til Monday but was taken to emergency pet hospital on Sunday morning feb 5th and was told that he had dead tissue and a bad infection. Rascal was over night in the hospital and was sent home with an open wound the size of an orange with wet to dry dressing. Monday was sent to another vet to change the dressing where he ended up back in the ER because they dressing did not cover the wound and was open to infection and pulling on his skin. Rascal was back at the ER this morning where he is now running a fever and will be hospitalized for 4 days with a wound Vac and then if the wound is small enough will hopefully be stitched up next week pending funds. We have already paid 600 for the first vet that messed up, 2500 for the surgery and another 800 for the dressing change where we ended up back in the hospital because the wound was never covered. Now for the wound vac and to be hospitalized for 4 days will cost 2,827.78 and then for the surgery another 3,345.74. We are asking friends and family to see if they can help, alittle will go along way. Rascal is still his spirited self even after all the trauma he has gone thru. We are hoping to raise this by next week so he can have his surgery and get closed up and back to his playful self. I know everyone's funds are tight but I have depleted everything I have to keep Rascal here and now reaching out to friends and family and I don't have the heart because of the kids and myself to put him down.
