If you don't already know Marley, he is a fun loving, sweet and mellow little dude. He enjoys stuffed animals (especially his Rainbow Bear and Peppa Pig), chasing birds, cheese, any meat possible, and long walks on the beach. On Super Bowl Sunday, Marley was hit by a motorcycle. The accident left him in critical with several lacerations on his neck and chest. One of the lacerations was so deep, it exposed his jugular and carotid arteries and also caused the death of capillaries in the surrounding tissues. The emergency vet said if the cut was 1mm deeper, he would have most likely bled out. We are counting our blessings on how lucky he is to be alive right now. On Monday, 2/6, Marley underwent a surgery to remove dead skin and suture all lacerations. All though Marley is going to be okay, he has a very long recovery ahead of him and his doctor says treatment will be ongoing.
