Tressa Boudreaux-Prophylactic Bilateral Double Masectomy
Donation protected
The last couple months have been some of the most stressful times. We have had to make some life changing decisions for Tressa Boudreaux. Most of her friends and of course her family know the extensive family history of Breast Cancer. Tressa has under went genetic testing and even though the test are negative she has an extremely high percentage of a Breast Cancer diagnosis as time goes by. We have met with her Primary Care provider/Breast Medical Care team and her Oncologist at M.D. Anderson with more upcoming testing in July. At that time we will also meet the Plastic Surgeon and Oncologist to finalize details for her upcoming Prophylactic Bilateral Double Masectomy. This process has brought to light that her cancer policy with Aflac will not be of any service to her due to the policy only covering an actual Cancer diagnosis versus using preventative measure to avoid putting her at to risk of a Breast Cancer diagnosis. Our health insurance has not approved any coverage with travel, lodging or food expenses thus far. Tressa does noyhave short term disability and if she were to get a policy now, it will not cover her time off after surgery due to things already in progress. If anyone knows Tressa she is a very private person and has had difficulty with sharing this with everyone. We are trying to decide on ways to help us with the financial aspect of all the expenses. We are not sure how to ask for help when we don't want to seem like we are asking for a hand out. If anyone has any ideas please reach out to me. Please keep Tressa in you prayers for the continued strength to see this process through. She is one stubborn cookie, but all cookies crumble. Thank you and love you all!!!
