Hi, my name is Ashley Gibson and I am the owner of Gypsy, an almost 3 years old Shiba Inu. On May 24th, she was involved in an unfortunate cooking accident and was hit by boiling water. Sadly, she now suffers from multiple burn wounds. These wounds include her back area, sides, chest, stomach, elbow, and paw. As her owner, I am doing my best to take care of her and help her receive the best treatment so she can recover. The veterinarian says that she has a long road of recovery ahead of her that will take weeks, if not months to fully recover.

While we are still in the beginning stages of her treatment, she needs to have daily bandage replacement under sedation. With this being the case, her medical bills have quickly hit about the $1500 mark on just day two of treatment. By day four or five, I believe it will be past the $2500 mark and continue to rise quickly as she continues treatment.

 

As a 22 year old college student, her bills are quickly becoming overwhelming. I have taken on another job to help cover for her expenses but I am afraid it will not be enough to cover her medical expenses and our living expenses. I am currently debating on taking on another job as well but am afraid that at that point, I will be unable to care for her at home since I would be working the majority of the time then.
