Jesse and Marisa live in Rockaway Beach Oregon. They have been wanting to expand their family and after some disappointment, it happened on January 13th, 2022 when Julian Jordan was born. Unfortunately, their dream has hit a bump in the road.
On April 6th Marisa took Julian to the doctor as they were concerned about some wheezing he was experiencing when he breathed. Thinking it was just allergies, the doctor decided to do an x-ray just in case. The x-ray determined that he had an enlarged heart and he was quickly sent to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland. The doctors there decided that there was an issue and he was admitted to the PICU. Julian was diagnosed with coarctation of the aorta. This is a condition where the blood flow from his heart is constricted and the heart is working twice as hard to give him the blood he needs and to get it to his extremities. This condition can be fixed and they are working on it. He currently has had a balloon procedure to widen the blood flow and is making progress. They are considering different options going forward, but it is a slow process.
They have healthcare in Oregon and are able to stay a the Ronald McDonald House in Portland. They will have various other expenses, and what they do not currently have is income for bills, etc. This situation requires both of them to take shifts to be with Julian so Jesse is unable to work at this time and possibly in the near future even after they return home. Julian will need special care when he gets home, and one parent cannot do it alone. It is hard to determine exactly how much they will need as things are changing day by day. We are currently setting a goal for $15,000 to cover the next 3-4 months and will reassess if things change and they need less or more.
We are asking for anyone who knows, cares about and loves this family to help them with a donation. Let’s reduce the anxiety about what comes next for this family so that they can focus on their beautiful son.
We are also asking that you refrain from calling and texting them as they are overwhelmed at this time and need the space to just be with their son. We will try to post often to try and keep you apprised of his progress.
Thank you so much for your love and care!
