In Loving Memory of Our Grandpa

As many may have heard… on Friday, December 19th, our family experienced an unimaginable loss when our grandpa, Gary McClain was taken from us in a hit-and-run accident. He wasn’t only our grandpa but also a loving husband, father, and a friend who meant the world to so many.

We will always remember our grandpa for his ability to put a smile on the face of every one he met. He showed up in all six of our lives in every way that he could. Whether it was attending every sports event, taking us fishing, driving us to school, slipping us a $20 bill under the table, or just calling when he heard we had a bad day, he was always there. In addition to being one of our best friends, he was also our grandma’s main provider and caregiver. His sudden passing has left our family not only heartbroken, but now facing difficult and unexpected challenges.

We are now navigating the expenses of placing our grandma in a memory care assisted living facility so she can receive the care and support she needs. We are raising funds to cover these expenses and to support our family as we grieve and adjust to life without him. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. We know our grandpa wouldn’t want us to be sad. We are sure he is up in heaven fishing with his buddies, catching up with his brother, and talking the ear off of every person he can.

Grandpa, we love you and we miss you so much. We are so sorry this happened to you and wish we could have said goodbye. We hope you are at peace and we will see you again one day.
