Ciao!

Sono Gaja, ho 31 anni e quest'anno ho deciso di ricominciare l'università, per migliorare la mia situazione lavorativa e anche la mia salute mentale.

In questo momento della mia vita, le mie uniche prospettive girano intorno allo sfruttamento, che sia attraverso la mia immagine o attraverso lavori sottopagati con cui si sopravvive a stento. La mia famiglia non è in grado di supportarmi, o almeno spero che non siano in grado davvero, e che non sia solo una scusa per non credere nelle mie capacità.

D'altra parte, ultimamente ho anche perso il lavoro, quindi sono nella completa instabilità economica, e questo ha un effetto notevole anche sulla mia autostima e sulla mia salute mentale.

Per me ricominciare a studiare non è solo un'opportunità di reinserirmi nel mondo del lavoro, ma anche di poter coltivare una speranza e concedermi almeno il lusso di credere in un futuro migliore. Amo imparare cose nuove, mi piace lo studio ed è sempre stata una parte fondamentale della mia vita.

(Veniamo ora alle questioni tecniche:

Il mio isee universitario purtroppo coinvolge anche la mia famiglia, essendo io fuori dal nucleo solo da pochi mesi. Quindi le mie tasse universitarie ammontano a 850 euro+ 150 euro di marche da bollo.)

I'm Gaja, I'm 31 years old, and this year I decided to go back to university to improve my job situation and also take care of my mental health.

At this point in my life, my only prospects seem to revolve around exploitation — whether it’s through my image or through underpaid jobs that barely allow me to get by. My family isn’t able to support me, and they often try to bring me down emotionally too, saying that at 30 it’s too late to go back to studying, and that if I haven’t managed to find a decent job by now, I never will.

On top of that, I’ve recently lost my job, so I’m in complete financial instability, which has a strong impact on my self-esteem and mental health as well.

For me, going back to study isn’t just an opportunity to re-enter the job market, but also a way to nurture hope and allow myself at least the luxury of believing in a better future. I love learning new things — studying has always been a fundamental part of my life.

(Now for the practical matters:

Unfortunately, my university ISEE (income indicator) still includes my family, since I’ve only recently become independent. Therefore, my university fees amount to €850 + €150 in administrative stamp duties.)
