The Cross Family's Story @—^——********** * = a lost pregnancy for the Cross family at that time period Darron Wayne Cross and Jessica Hope Hembree-Cross first met in the summer of 2002 at their first duty station while serving their country in the United States Army. They fell in love and were inseparable! Darron worked at Billy Johnson Dental Clinic as a dental specialist and Jessica worked at Dental Clinic #3 also as a dental specialist and supply manager. They married on April 17, 2004, next to their fellow military servicemen and women, parents, and friends of Fort Hood, Texas. They experienced their first pregnancy and then miscarriage in December of 2004 and second in June of 2005.** On December 5, 2005, they moved on assignment to Kaiserslautern, Germany. Deutschland! The next week after arriving in a foreign country, they experienced their third miscarry and decided to go back on “the pill” . *** While serving in the Europe Regional Dental Command, 464th Medical Company, Specialist Darron Cross, was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq for a fifteen month mission. He competed and won Soldier of the Quarter Board. Darron mainly managed his squad of Soldiers and was his unit’s armorer. He loves physical training and is really good at it! Staff Sergeant Jessica Hembree-Cross was preparing for competitions or “boards” and also managing the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic in Landstuhl, Germany. She was assigned to Landstuhl Dental Activity (LDENTAC) and worked at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC). Jessica won Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year board while training in Germany and was on her unit’s color guard and softball teams. In her leadership course called Warrior Leadership Course (WLC) she was named the “Iron Female Warrior” for placing number one in the female’s army physical fitness test. They both were career Soldiers and great assets to their organizations as they both were decorated with Army Good Conduct Medals with Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medals wit Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medals with Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medals, Iraq & Afghanistan Campaign Medals, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medals. After Darron safely returned home with the rest of his unit in 2009 the two were reassigned to the United States. **** Their new home was located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where Darron honorably discharged in October of 2009 and entered Dental Laboratory Technical School. ***** Jessica continued her military career and trained for a mission to Kandahar, Afghanistan on May 5, 2010 at the Role 3 Nato Hospital where she and her squad set up the first US Army dental clinic for armed forces to receive dental treatment. ****** The 257th Dental Company (Area Support) unit returned home safely together after a long, hot, dry year to find Jessica honorably discharging and moving with Darron to Greenville, South Carolina on July 22, 2011 where they would apply for college and purchase their first home together. ******* Darron graduated from Greenville Technical College’s Personal Trainer Program while Jessica graduated from their Dental Hygiene Program receiving two scholarships during the course of the schooling. Student loans and the Montgomery GI Bill strategically got them both financially through the two intensive programs which they are paying back now for the next ten years. The schooling debt amounted to an estimated $37,000 including interest and fixed monthly payments that increase every two years automatically. ******** Darron and Jessica Cross work full-time at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry for Dr. John Palmer and Dr. Daniel Knause. They specialize in holistic dental care. They also both currently work for UHAUL Moving and Storage of Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina part-time. In addition to those occupations, Darron works for Greer Athletic Club part-time and Jessica babysits for five families as well as drives for Uber part-time. They really enjoy gardening, riding bicycles, boating, and caring for their four hens that lay eggs. They have several nieces and nephews that keep them busy at the holidays and are fully supported by all of their parents and grandparents.********* Thank you for taking the time to read this story. My sister means the world to me as our family wants to help her and Darron attempt In Vitro Fertilization treatment with Dr. John Payne at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group in Greenville, South Carolina without having to worry about lots of financial stressors. Dr. Payne is also a US Army veteran who had to perform emergency laparoscopic surgery on my sister January 12, 2017 and saved her life!********** He removed her right fallopian tube with the suspected eight week pregnancy and decided to remove most of her left tube at the same time which was found unremarkable. Darron and Jessica now are only able to conceive using IVF treatment which costs about $14,500. Please donate as much as you can to help them afford an opportunity to extend their beautiful family. They have decided to pursue this treatment as soon as their doctors approve. Everyone’s family deserves to sparkle and blossom! We owe our existence and prosperity to the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is my mission to help provide some financial and emotional assistance to my sister and her husband as they deserve this chance with PREG. Thank you so much for your time. God Bless All!
