In need of a new prosthetic leg

As strange as it may sound, it is harder for me to ask for help (especially financial), than it was going through the actual amputation and subsequent recovery. After 8 knee & ankle surgeries between the Fall of 2004 through September 2013, I have become fiercely independent and only have asked for physical help from my immediate family when needed....so, as stated, this is really hard for me to do this.
Having any type of chronic medical issue can be a financial burden, so when you have multiple autoimmune issues atop the below knee amputation, it gets costly with medications and annual leg supplies for up keep. Over time following an amputation, your "stump" continues to shrink making your socket ill-fitting, causing pain and instability. It has been over 6-1/2 years since my amputation, so I am very overdue for a new foot blade (which can break down over time), and for the 7th time, I am in need of a new socket as well....if you can imagine it, I am currently wearing the equivalent of 21 socks on my stump to make up for the shrinkage. This is very unstable, and after having my second beautiful baby boy this past October, it's extremely important for me to be stable on my leg when carrying him and I fear tripping or developing a sore from the ill-fitting socket. For those who dont know me as well as others, I am mother of 2 boys (ages 7 months & 5 years) and have 2 big doggos that all keep me active and wearing my leg on average of 18 hours a day.
I just got the cost estimate of the supplies I need from my prosthetist, and after my insurance is taken into account, the estimated out-of-pocket costs will exceed $3,100. Being out of work due to COVID-19 has not made saving money for my leg any easier, so if any friends or family would be able to assist, my family & I would be extremely grateful. I am scheduled for a fitting next week (June 9th), and the new leg & supplies would likely be ready for pick up within 2 weeks thereafter....payment in full is due at pick up. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask as I am an open book. Thank you for your time and your kindness ♡
