Sterling's Recovery
Donation protected
In early October (on Friday the 13th no less), Sterling unexpectedly started experiencing extreme abdominal pain after work. He went to the ER at Henry Ford in Jackson and was diagnosed with appendicitis and admitted that night. On Monday, the 16th his appendix was successfully removed.
While Sterling should have been on the road to recovery after surgery, his body decided to give him one more surprise. While still in the hospital healing, he continued to have extreme pain in his abdominal area. After more testing and multiple days in the hospital already, it was determined that he would need to be taken into surgery once more for a possible bowel obstruction. During surgery, the doctor's discovered that his body was rejecting metal hardware that had been put place years prior, during a previous operation. This caused metal debris to embed into his intestinal track, and cause the bowel obstruction. Doctors had to remove part of Sterling's small intestine and part of his large intestine as well!
After almost an entire month in the hospital, Sterling is FINALLY back home where he will begin his long road to recovery. He has been out of work since October 13th and will not be able to return until at least mid December, per his doctors. With no insurance and his only source of income on hold while he recovers, the medical bills are already adding up quickly and there will be multiple follow up appointments while he recovers. Please consider donating and sharing so we can help get Sterling back on his feet and doing what he loves!
