This is Spirit, my heartbeat. She is such a sweet loyal partner. She know only love and friendship and tries her best to please. Wednesday I found her lying flat out on the ground not even wanting to lift her head. I knew we were in serious trouble, she is not one to complain or be sick. I called the vet right away and began doing all the homeopathic remedies I know. The Vet did all that she could do giving fluids and pain relief. Spirit was dehydrated and had an impaction in her intestines. She knew that Spirit's only chance to survive might be to go to the Equine Medical Center (the hospital). There she was welcomed and examined by wonderful vets who highly recommended that she have surgery to find out what was causing her pain and impaction. They tried giving her fluids and pain relief but Spirit was in so much pain and test were showing a possibility of a twist or other damage to her intestines. Without the surgery there wasn't anything else that could be done but waiting and praying. I didn't have the funds for the surgery and the hospital can no longer allow people to make payments on medical care and surgery. What an awful situation to be in, to know without the surgery she would most likely have to be relieved of her pain and humanely euthanized. The thought is unbearable to look into those big eyes so trusting yet showing so much pain and looking to me her partner to do something to help her. If not for my friends stepping up and offering their money without question, she most likely wouldn't be in recovery today. We are both so blessed by Gods Grace, answered prayers and the support of the most loving and caring human friends on earth. Thank you so much for "Saving Spirit", and saving me. ❤
