Howdy friend, family, and kind strangers.
My name is Tamara, I am 30 years old, and I have been diagnosed with high-risk invasive ductal carcinoma. In short, I have breast cancer.
Due to the procedures already undergone, and the many to come in the future, I am unable to work my usual warehouse or waitressing gigs. I’ve been actively working since I was 14 years old, but that has come to a screeching halt until my surgeries are healed. At this point, I have no clue when that will be, meaning I have no financial security while I attend my cancer procedures and surgeries.
I am grateful to have insurance for a majority of the medical expenses regarding my breasts— however, these will not cover my expenses for housing, therapy, psychiatrist visits, my anti-anxiety meds and antidepressants, food, travel to appointments and procedures when I can’t get a ride from friends, and other medical emergencies such as needing new prescription lenses and a filling for a broken tooth.
I hate to ask for help of any kind, especially financial help, but I don’t know how I’m going to get through this without assistance. For now, I just want to be sure that I don’t have to worry about a drastic change in my quality of life while I focus on healing. All I can do is humbly ask for your help in any way.
