Steve’s fight against cancer

I’m organizing this gofundme on behalf of my Dad and anyone who loves him.

Over a year ago my parents sat me down and said the terrifying words “We need to talk. Your Dad has cancer.” At that very moment my heart broke - no amount of telling me that it was going to be ok would register. I knew in my heart that things would be scary and painful and that we were going to watch my Father battle for his life.

As he started going to his Doctor appointments and receiving treatment we found out that not only did he have cancer, it had metastasized. He had colon cancer, but there were also spots in both his lungs and his liver. This past year has been grueling treatment (chemotherapy), that at one point put him in renal failure and almost killed him. Since then, the doctors stopped chemotherapy and he underwent surgery. While on the operating table his surgeon found more cancer in the lining of his abdomen. He has what’s called Carcinomatosis. Without further chemotherapy and other various treatments his doctor gave him 2 months to live. Thankfully he’s agreed to do more chemotherapy, giving us lots of hope and will to continue fighting.

That being said, my Dad is our hero. He has his soulmate and wife Teri by his side, as well as 3 daughters who love him with everything they have, and 4 grandchildren who think he hung the moon in the sky. In short he is our everything, and we need him to be ok.

Although it’s extremely difficult to ask for help, now is the time where he needs help. The money we’re asking for, is for treatments not covered by his insurance, as well as second opinions and alternative treatments.

Cancer has a way of not only taking people we love, but it also wrecks financial havoc during a time where that individual needs to focus solely on getting well and making as many memories as they can with their loved ones.
