My daughter has Moyamoya

My name is Cynthia Taylor and I am the mother of LaToya Taylor, who is suffering from a not too well known brain disease, called Moyamoya. When we first learned that LaToya had this sometimes fatal brain disease we had never heard of it before. Very little people seemed to have heard of it or knew what it meant. I will try to explain as best as I can. In short, Moyamoya is a narrowing of arteries in the brain that stops the blood from flowing as it should through the brain. Unfortunately, this could cause a very devastating brain stroke. Once a stroke has occurred there would be very little that can be done to help or save the Moyamoya patient.
Moyamoya is an Asian name. Moyamoya was first found in the Asian community, but it is not limited to, nor does it only affect Asians (as we can see). My daughter has had one brain operation and unfortunately her disease has worsened.
After careful research we found a doctor with high expertise in the Moyamoya brain disease. We were very happy to have found him and extremely happy that he chose to perform her next surgery. Finding him has given us hope. Otherwise, we would have to keep praying for someone like him. But God chose to bless us with this very special doctor, somewhat quickly.
In order to have the surgery we would have to travel from Pennsylvania to California and this would be very expensive. Hospital charges, flight and housing stays. Also, we both would be out of work and we just don't know how we would be able to afford it all. The surgery is going to be scheduled between June and July and we are just reaching out to our family, friends, co-workers, church members and anyone who could help us. It means so much to us, and we would like all concerned to know that we truly appreciate all of your anticipated help.
LaToya is a very humble God-fearing, praying young woman. Her two children Abria and Ahmad need their mother here with them and here in good health.
