Hello friends,
I am making a call to arms for the support of a very close friend and her family.
I would like to introduce a very special young lady; her name is Hayley Fambrough. She is the daughter of Allen and Melissa Fambrough. Those of you that know Allen and his family also know they will not ask for help but will give help to anyone who needs it. Allen is a retired Gwinnett County fire/medic and has served his community in Gwinnett, Walton, Rockdale and Barrow counties for over 20 years. I met Hayley about fifteen years ago when she was a player on a soccer team I coached. She was a little shy at first but that changed after a few practices. Hayley showed a lot of growth in her skills on the field and her personality also changed with confidence and determination. She took pride in herself as she became a better player on the field and a better teammate off the field. As a coach, Hayley was one of the better players I’ve coached with improvements seen both inside herself and out. Hayley did not stop there she took all that confidence and determination into her adult years.
Hayley is now a teacher, but not just any teacher. She has dedicated her life to teaching special education and she has focused her determination and passion for the more advanced mentally, physically, and medically challenging kids. Hayley loves her job and loves her SPED kids even more. She is currently teaching at Walnut Grove High School but has also taught in Gwinnett County.
All this background was to show the kind of person Hayley is and why I felt the need to do something she would never do on her own. I am asking for help from all my friends and family in the first responder, special needs, and education communities.
Hayley is fighting for her life, and her battle has not been easy physically, mentally and most importantly financially. Hayley has a rare type of cancer and has been fighting for about a year now. She has done all the treatments for her cancer and actually beat it around Christmas last year, but on her follow up a short time later the cancer has come back, and it is more aggressive this time around. Hayley has not recovered fully from the first battle. Financially she is struggling to keep up with her treatment, but she will not ask for help.
Due to the type of cancer and the location of her most recent tumor, no doctor locally will attempt to remove it. Hayley has been able to find a surgeon in Charleston, SC that will operate on her. Hayley’s insurance is paying for some of the surgery, but the rest is on her and her family. So, I am asking my friends and family both personally and professionally to help this wonderful and loving family with some of the financial hardship to help Hayley fight and beat her cancer.

Please open your heart and donate to her fight against cancer.
