I am writing this on behalf of someone who is close to me and one of my long time friends, Garrett Souza. He was recently involved in a horrific motorcycle accident the day after Christmas. He was struck by a vehicle that was making a left hand turn which collided with Garrett and caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle. The concussive force of impact Garrett endured from the accident caused Traumatic Brain Injury, along with the loss of his Kidney and his spleen. He also fractured multiple ribs and suffered spinal injuries to his cervical and thoracic vertbrae. Despite all odds against survival, Garrett was able to overcome the fight of his life by his faith, desire and sheer will to live. 

A little background about Garrett:

He was given the nickname of "Robocop" from the medical staff because of not only his dedication to the City of Burbank as a Police Officer but his overall toughness as well.  From his outgoing personality, to being a captain on the football team, to even being a trusted leader in our community, Garrett has always been someone that all of us could trust and look up to. Garrett has a hardworking personality and one that won't ever quit. He has one of the biggest hearts and would give you the shirt off of his own back if you needed it. Garrett is loved throughout his family, friends and community.

Though Garrett has been battling through the countless hours of operations and surgeries, it's still a long road to recovery. It's been a vary emotional time not only for Garrett but his family as well. He has battled and overcame the fight of his life but now I'm asking for you to please help support him and his family in the time of need.
