Maddie’s Fight

Donation protected
On July 19th (just a month and a half after her high school graduation), Maddie went in to get an MRI done, after experiencing migraines. Around 6pm that same evening she was called and told that she had a mass in the frontal lobe of her brain.  It was devastating.  On July 22nd she was taken to Abbott in Minneapolis to see a neurosurgeon. She was feeling hopeful and happy after she was told that because of the location of the tumor, it could be easily removed with little affect to her, and she could get in for surgery the Next Day. We were happy for this news! July 23rd Maddie was admitted to Abbott for her brain surgery, but unfortunately they did not get the whole tumor. They did, however, get 95% of it. Because the tumor had "tentacle like" cells that were too small, the surgeon did not want to just "keep cutting," and potentially cause damage to Maddie. This was extremely difficult to hear, as we were hoping for better news. July 25th, just two days after surgery, Maddie was able to come home!  Around 4pm, Maddie was called with the results of her biopsy... Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Brain Cancer. Heartbreaking. Now, with a name, the diagnosis, she's moving forward to the next step. Treatment. Childrens of Minnesota has taken on Maddie's treatment plan. Which we are grateful for. She will have to go through radiation and some chemo. (More details to come.) We are praying so hard that God will heal her from head to toe. We believe He does miracles, and Maddie will have healing through Him. With everything going on, I am reaching out... The last thing I want my sister Maddie, and parents (Tom and Kris) to worry about is the financial burden that comes with this diagnosis. There's the surgery she's gone through, the stays at the hospital, the drives back and forth to treatments, the doctor check ups. Maddie needs her mom and dad next to her throughout this process, which also means time off... All of the raised funds will be going to them. I'm also asking for prayer.  It's incredible how many people (even across the globe!), have said they are praying for Maddie. We believe that prayer Works! We have already seen how God has pushed this forward, and made everything work quickly for our favor, so please pray. Continue to pray. Pray for our Maddie's healing. Thank You Everyone for your support.  #TeamMaddie #GreyRibbon #FuckPhil (She named her tumor Phil)
