Help Rebuild Life After Car Accident
Donation protected
Suddenly plunged into living on the street! I worked 3 jobs while living in my car right after Covid-19. In July 2024, my car was totaled by someone who rear-ended a line of 4 cars stopped at an intersection.
Right now, I seek to create the resources to move into an apartment, to pay for a new car, to be able to move my belongings out of storage, and to move into a sustaining area of employment.
For all who live with these challenges, you already know - it's intensive work with more layers of difficulty than most would imagine. In my case, I'm 63, I have had a lifetime of good health and fitness, but now my knees and legs are sore all the time. Swollen to 4 times their normal size. This is just one challenge of not having anywhere to lie down, to have my legs fully extended, to sleep, to rest, to use a bathroom as often as I should.
I'm not the only one; I'm just one individual reporting on my experience. The other piece: there is very little out there that will help an individual if you fall thru the cracks. I'm intending to use my experience to educate others, and hopefully exert influence on lackluster leaders to actually have a plan in place. Ending up in an emergency is not that hard, even if you have savings (I did), work (I do), have friends & family around, but no means to bridge the gap in resources.
I am very grateful to all kinds of people who paid attention & have created a million small kindnesses. Those would never pay the bills - but they keep me from feeling like the end of the galaxy has arrived.
Thank you for YOUR support!
