Hello! My name is Mattie Holloway and I am a freshman at Emerson College in Boston Massachusetts. I am in the honors program at Emerson, and I am currently balancing this with my part-time job. I am a writing, literature, and publishing major, and I would love to find inspiration for my work in Europe. I've been allowed the opportunity to study abroad at Kasteel Well  in The Netherlands this coming fall (2020). There, I would continue my writing and honors courses while also having the opportunity to travel to other nearby towns and countries on the weekends (groups in the past have gone on weekend trips to Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, etc). 
Of course, these weekend trips are not entirely paid for by my school, nor are my flights to and from Europe, the $300 deposit I have paid for the trip, or my passport. While I have earned some scholarships to assist with my tuition, Emerson has estimated that I will need an additional $5,000 to pay for the expenses I have listed previously. 
I'm proud of what I've been able to accomplish in my first semester of college, and I know that I will continue to push myself as I continue to pursue my degree.
