Jackson Moore is a kind, loving, and hilarious 14-year-old. Jackson loves to play baseball, fish and spend time with his friends and family. We have been blessed to know him and his family for over ten years. He is my son's very closest friend. In September of 2016, while practicing football at our middle school, Jackson sustained a severe concussion. As a result, he missed most of his 8th grade year.
This sweet boy who loves the outdoors has been primarily confined to bed for the pasted 10 months.
Jackson has suffered from numerous seizures connected to the concussion and stress of this situation. He has been hospitalized five times since January and continues to suffer from debilitating headaches caused by high pressure within his spinal column. Thus far, his only relief he gets comes from a lumbar puncture to drain off some of the fluid. This is a painful procedure that leaves him extremely sore. The prognosis for Jackson is good and a complete recovery is expected, we just don't know when this will occur. As Jackson has walked through this journey, doctors are finding out that this is not an isolated incident. Many athletes are sustaining concussions at this severity level and with similar symptoms.
His parents, Jason and Julie Moore, are also some of our closest friends. They are both salt of the earth people who would give you the shirts off their backs. They pray hard, love whole heartedly, and laugh often. They, along with their two other children, have been through the hardest year of their lives. As friends, it has been incredibly painful to watch their journey, feeling quite helpless. As one would expect, they have incurred an enormous medical debt for hospital stays, medical procedures, and medication for Jackson. We are starting this fund to show Jackson and his family that we are all here standing with them.
We are asking you to give to this sweet family to ease their financial burden. PLEASE show them that so many care about Jackson and about their family!
