Mar's road to recovery after baby#2
Donation protected
Marilyn (Marlene) Pacheco was due to give birth Feb 24, 2019, to a beautiful baby boy, 6.5 years after welcoming her first son Cristian. An uncomplicated pregnancy, would soon have a frightening turn of events during delivery.
Expecting a large baby, though not prepared for how large, Marilyn was induced Feb 11. Midnight on Feb 12 headed to the hospital with baby ready to arrive. By 2:30am, Marilyn welcomed 11lb baby Conor. With fluid in his lungs and low blood sugar, Conor was taken to the NICU and released Feb 16 healthy as can be. Sadly, Marilyn suffered an amniotic fluid embolism and 2 ruptured femoral arteries leading to massive blood loss. After receiving massive blood transfusions she remains in serious but stable condition in ICU. Baby Conor is lovingly being cared for by close family.
Marilyn's husband Mario, brother and sister have provided round the clock care. While her parents and extended family care for her 6.5 year old son.
We will be registering Marilyn for sick/maternity leave and patiently waiting for those benefits to begin. Marilyn's husband is self employed and has of course been focused solely on his wife's condition which is currently stable but a long way from recovered. We all know how financially difficult it can be to care for someone critically ill, let alone welcome a new baby at the same time. PLEASE support this family so that the financial stress is one less worry on Marilyn's road to recovery.
We also ask that you consider donating to a local blood bank near you. Marilyn received a significant blood transfusion, which helped to save her life. We hope our friends and family can support in saving someone else's in their time of need.
