Update:
‘Rest’ is a privilege. One that any chronically ill person understands.
Surgeries take a toll on our bodies, ‘work’ becomes impossible - and yet with governments seeming not to care (and being slow with support) and friends expecting you to ‘get well soon’, needing support from the community, becomes an extra layer of shame and feeling not enough.
The recovery process takes longer.
The ‘rest’ becomes impossible and yet the ‘work’ isn’t enough either.
and so, as of June 2026, we’re collecting donations for ‘rest’.
Loopy has more surgeries in August and is still yo-yoing to A&E, with a body in constant survival mode.
Any extra funds raised, will go towards meal replacement shakes, fans to regulate a safe temperature at home and general bills.
Initially, I’m hoping we can raise $1,000 (on top of the $1494 already raised).
Thank you.

Home is meant to be a place of safety.
A place where, when the world is loud and heavy and mean, you can close the door, kick off your shoes and rest up on the couch, knowing the monsters can’t get you there.
Sadly, for our dear friend ‘Loopy’, that isn’t the case. Loopy is currently living in a hostile, violent, unsafe home, that due to health and financial issues, they can’t leave.
This campaign is to help in ways that can support Loopy, until they are able to move out.
Not only is Loopy dealing with a difficult home situation, but they are also awaiting gallbladder surgery and Cancer biopsy results, as well as dealing with an array of other health issues, including issues making it difficult to move, eat (and chew), drink, or swallow, making ‘work’ impossible.
Ordinarily a soap maker and artist - life is far from whimsical right now.
Even though Loopy is going through so much in her home and personal life right now, she still never fails to be a community orientated social butterfly and a big part of our lives - often putting her needs last. She is there in our times of need, with memes, jokes and life-stories. Loopy has lived many lives in her 31 years. Collectively, we’ve come together to pay that love back.
Our first priority is to make Loopy safe (extra security) and provide them with basic resources (replacing broken furniture, a microwave, mobility aids and money for food).
Right now, we are pulling funds for:
A portable AC + external battery (as power can sometimes drop - and temperature regulation / fridge meds are life-critical).
A manual spin / washing machine.
Surgical Recovery and flare maintenance.
A safe (to protect sensitive / important documents).
Replacements of a power wheelchair, a walker and a cane (as these were broken / damaged / destroyed).
It is Loopy’s hope that in the future, they will be able to move out, to safer accommodation, so in that case, more funds will be required.
This may also increase if the results come back 'positive' for cancer and post surgery.
The initial fundraiser has been set at $5,000, to cover the above expenses.
If you’re reading this and able to donate, please consider supporting, no matter how big or small the amount. Even a share helps so much.
No one should have to live like this.
Thank you for supporting our friend.
Big Love,
Lauren, Harrie and the Drama Club Community.
