September 9th was the best day and the worst day of our lives. It was the day Jackson was welcomed to the world. Our first and last child. It was the day Mama Jackey came close to leaving this earth. Through complications at birth, the situation became life threatening to birth mom. She immediately began to hemorrhage, endured five hours of surgery, resulting in an emergency hysterectomy, induced coma, forced on a respirator, hundreds of internal stitches, surface stitches-cuts-and-scars, plus multiple blood transfusions. Thankfully she survived. As we slowly put our lives back together and work through both mental and physical recovery, the most devastating detail unable to recover from is the dismantled dream of being able to carry future children. Although blessed and thankful for all we have it would mean the world to us to be financially able to have a surrogate to birth another child.
