Hi, my name is Thea Williams. I am creating this fundraiser for my friend, Lisa Neff, to pay her nursing home bills. Lisa started out permanently handicapped and in a wheelchair. She underwent shoulder replacement surgery in April, which corrected her shoulder erosion and pain. However, the surgery revealed extreme bone fragility, which complicated her recovery period. The surgeon had originally projected a 6-8 week recovery, but because of Lisa's extremely osteoporotic bones, she was required to remain immobile for an extended period of time. Therefore, all the muscles in her body became very weak while she remained almost completely bedridden. Lisa has been receiving custodial care for six months! She has been working with physical therapists to regain function, but it takes an extremely long time to get muscle strength back. She has not yet been medically cleared to return home. Her insurance company cut off funding after two weeks, and she is facing massive medical bills. Lisa has looked into various medical debt relief programs, but none have been able to assist her. She would be deeply grateful for any help.
