Nolans Illness

Donation protected

My name is, Ian Eelbode, the 21 year old brother of, 13 year old Nolan Idyle. It was early September, school had just started, and Nolan started to feel unwell after his return from being up north with family and his baseball team. He started off with just a minor headache and some flu like symptoms. 5 days had past and the headache then came to be a severe migrane, along with other symptoms worsening, and a confused kind of look to him. We urged our mother to take him to the ER. From there he got even worse, he claimed to be off of the hospitals pain scale by far. They admitted him and things took off from there. He came to be very sensitive to any light, sound, or movement, wasnt able to walk or even stand barley, and began hallucinating. Many tests, including a spinal tap, were done. They thought he had viral meningitis which was almost untreatable. We had to let the illness run it course. 2 weeks had past and he came home from the hospital. Without ever showing signs of improvement another week later the illness had came back almost full force. We went straight back to the hospital, no answers. We were sent home again. We started tons of physical therapy and doctors appointments with still no improvments or answers. After another 6 trips to the hospital, a few different hospitals, plenty of different doctors, physical therapy and going on 5 months of this hell, we finaly received a referal to the infectious diseases doctor where another spinal tap was done. They came to a conclusion that he was misdiagnosed and untreated for meningoencephalitis. Today he is still unwell. He uses a walker where ever he goes, has had a terrible deep cough, is in a lot of pain, and still has other side effects as well. As soon as some other test results come back, we start round 3 of hardcore physical therapy and some medications. With all this and more going on things at our household have been tight for some time now between my mother missing a ton of work and myself as well, to be at the hospital or take him back and forth to all the physical therapy or doctors appointments he has. Our lives as we knew them came to a hault and our main focus for going on 5 months now has been getting Nolan healthy again. My mother works afternoons and I am home from work around 5, so i seek after him while my mother is working taking care of all of his needs Every week day. This has been and is continuing to be a crazy journey. We thank all donators no matter the donation you are greatly appriciated and humbled by us. Without all the support we've had from friends family and strangers we would be no where right now. All proceeds will go to my mother, Deborah Idyle, and brother, Nolan Idyle to help with things in their lives and continue any medical attention or treatment he might need on this road to recovery. Thank you kindly from our hearts and love to all!
