Hi. My name is Stephanie and I'm trying to help my children raise the funds for cremation and a small memorial service for their father, Jamie.
Jamie was always the life of the party. He loved music, especially reggae, and occasionally worked as a DJ. He enjoyed being social and loved meeting and talking to people. Jamie truly never met a stranger! He was loved by many, especially his children J'aime and Jimmie.
On December 4, 2023, Jamie went to the hospital because he was not feeling well. He was extremely ill with congestive heart failure, and had to be sedated. In the coming days, he was placed on a ventilator, dialysis and a feeding tube. J'aime traveled from Ohio to Florida to be with him. The doctors told her he would not recover, and she had to make the heart wrenching decision to remove life support interventions. Jamie entered hospice on December 14 at 3 pm, and left his earthly body to meet the Lord, at 3 am on December 15th. He was 49.
J'aime, at 22, is responsible for the cost of cremation and the memorial service. She's a student and works part time. Her brother Jimmie has a rare genetic disease and severe developmental disabilities. He is unable to contribute to the final costs. My husband and I are helping a much as possible, but 9 months ago, I left my career of 17 years, to care for Jimmie full time. We don't like to ask for help, but at this point, we are low on options.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for the end of January.
We appreciate your help in this very sad time.
