Giving Back To Kids With Cancer

Donation protected
Hello, my name is James Tiernan and I am a survivor of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). I was diagnosed on December 31st, 2011. I was on 3 different pills to keep the leukemia under control, unfortunately they all stopped working. On April 12th 2016, I was admitted to Hackensack University Medial Center for 5 days of heavy chemotherapy. During those 5 days I don't think I've ever felt more sick and run down. On April 20th 2016, I received a bone marrow transplant which made me cancer free! Although I was cancer free it came with a lot of side effects which caused me to be readmitted to the hospital several times. During those times of being sick my family and friends were always there to support me and be a shoulder to cry on if I needed one. But what also made me feel so special and feel like there were people I didn't even know who supported my struggles were foundations who donated gift bags to help get through the tough times. I would like to raise money to help the children at Hackensack University Medical Center get through the tough times. As my one year mark of being cancer free is approaching I feel the need to help pay it forward and help make the children who are fighting a life threatening sickness feel as special as I did. No donation is too small to help bring a smile to a child's face who truly deserves it.
