I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my friend Lena. Over the weekend she was horrifically mauled by a greyhound named Arthur she had been fostering for the past month. Arthur was rescued from the racetracks of Tijuana and the rescue organization never disclosed to us that he might have aggressive tendencies tied to past trauma.

The attack was sudden and horrific. We are grateful that she is alive, but she will need extensive reconstructive surgery to her face and arm to recover function and try to look like herself again. Aside from the excruciating pain, she is unable to work and is mentally traumatized.

Unfortunately, the rescue organization was of no help in this situation. When we asked that Arthur be removed immediately from her home, they requested that she drive the dog across town and drop off him off only hours after she had been discharged from the ER.
