I want to eat something Home Cooked

"I want to eat something home-cooked--a...beignet, coffee my mom used to make...You cannot be angry. There's not enough time to be angry," said Malcolm Alexander upon regaining his freedom after 38 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit.

I was touched by this quote from Malcolm Alexander -- shown in the photo with his namesake grandson and son --  showing incredible grace after enduring a gross miscarriage of justice and a literal lifetime of hardship and despair.  Mr. Alexander was falsely convicted of  rape and was sentenced to life in Louisiana's infamous Angola prison.  For 38 years he maintained his innocence and stayed positive in the face of a gross injustice and never stopped working for his freedom.

With the help of the Innocence Project, he was exonerated by DNA evidence.

Read about it here.

I'm going to track him down and send him a check for $100 just because.  But I'm asking my friends to join me in helping to brighten his day.  Please take 5 minutes and throw in $10 or $20.

For the next $100 that comes in, I'll match it dollar for dollar.

If I can't find him and be sure he is getting the money, I will donate it to the Innocence Project, which works to free people who were wrongfully imprisoned by using DNA evidence.
