Hi, my name is Tiana, and my better half Ryan MacLeod had an unfortunate accident while hiking in Acadia this weekend causing him to break his leg in two places (his fibula and tibia). He was close to the summit when it happened & the injury was so severe that search and rescue responders were absolutely necessary to get him to the hospital. After his rescue and an ambulance ride, he received care at MDI Hospital where we learned of his exact injuries which led to surgery that night. Ryan is a carpenter by trade and will be out of work anywhere from 1-2 months (if all goes well) which is a devasting blow. Ryan is an incredibly hard worker and truly loves what he does, aside from the financial burden being unable to work is going to be tough for such an active guy. For those of you who know him, it is evident the love and selflessness he shares with this world. Ryan never asks for help but after a year of us navigating work loss due to my illness this injury puts us in a tough spot financially. We are asking our community for support in raising funds to help with medical bills and living costs while Ryan focuses on healing. To say this last year has been incredibly tough on us is an understatement.
