Do you have fond memories of fall evenings spent under the lights at your local sports complex? Do you remember the sting in your hands after the swing of a bat or the sound of popping pads? Most of all, how did those experiences mold you into the person you are today? What if you had never had that one coach who taught you just as much about life as he did about sports? Or if you had never shared orange slices with a buddy that would one day become a ‘best man’?
Tasked with designing a marketing campaign for our sports marketing class at Florida State University, six graduate students created a charity to help youth in our city participate in recreational sports leagues. Next Generation’s concept is as simple as our story: at the end of the semester, whatever money we raise will go directly to the city of Tallahassee’s Parks and Recreation department, to be applied to the city’s youth sports programs. Our donation will be earmarked to help children who might need some financial help to be able to participate in an organized city league.
So that’s it! Got some extra change lying around? Please donate and know that every dime of your donation is going straight to the city’s youth sports programs.
