Karen Ruth Battes passed away unexpectedly on the morning of 10/7/25.

Her son, Ed Battes, has organized services for her for anyone who would like to attend and pay their respects. The services will be held at Behm Family Funeral Home in Madison from 4pm-7pm on Monday, October 13th.

I have created this fundraiser on Ed’s behalf. We are looking for friends and family to donate to this fundraiser to help offset the costs of these services. Ed has been his mom's caretaker for many years, and they really only had each other. This loss is very difficult for Ed so if we can help prevent this loss from also creating a financial hardship for him, that would be a great way to help support him through this difficult time.

In addition to being a loving mother, Karen was also a beloved Spanish teacher at Madison High School for decades. Karen is remembered fondly by many who had the pleasure of learning from her during her career.
