Memory Of My Mum

Thanks to Helen Curnow’s generosity from Adams Memorials, Fairview, Tweentown, Cheddar, BS27 3JB we have now raised enough money to buy the headstone for Mum’s grave and have decided any surplus money raised will now be donated to "The Samaritans". Thank you all so much again for all your support and kindness.

On the 7th May 2017 - myself, my partner and a few friends will be taking part in Tough Mudder in London. Tough mudder is 10 - 12 miles of mud and obstacles built to test your mental grit, camaraderie and all-around physical fitness.The reason we will be taking part is that we are trying to raise money to be able to finally buy a Headstone for my Mum’s grave. Please let me explain a little about the background - My mum sadly took her life on the 8th February 2012. I was only aged 16 at the time and not surprisingly my world came crashing down – emotionally, physically and in every way possible. My Mum had 4 children but myself and my 3 older brothers have never been able to save enough money between us for a headstone. At 16 I was left to manage the house I was brought up in without parental support and pay for bills and general up-keep of the property. I was at school at the time studying for my GCSEs, then went to college to study to become a hairdresser – which I manged and now have a great job in a salon but as a junior stylist I don’t earn enough money to save. Therefore, I have decided now it’s the milestone of 5 years since my Mum passed away its about time I did something to try and raise the money to finally lay our Mum to rest properly and have a headstone. So with the help of those who kindly sponsor me; it is my New Year’s resolution / dream to raise money so this will be possible in 2017.
