Help Walter Get Back on the Road
Support a 77-Year-Old Cancer Warrior and Unsung Hero
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my dear friend Walter — someone whose strength, humility, and heart have deeply inspired me and so many others.
Walter and I met about ten years ago while he was working as a janitor at Humana. Now 77 years old, Walter is still working hard every day — even while undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
Despite his health challenges, Walter hasn’t missed a single day of work. He schedules his chemo appointments after his shifts, never wanting to be a burden or fall short of his responsibilities. His boss, who now gives him rides to and from work, says he’s in awe of Walter’s dedication and resilience.
But recently, Walter’s situation has taken a difficult turn. His 2018 Ford Fusion broke down after a repair shop took advantage of him, and now the car is no longer running. With no reliable transportation, Walter has found himself walking home after chemo appointments. He would never complain, but when he shared this with me over breakfast for his 77th birthday, it broke my heart.
Walter needs help covering the cost of a new engine or whatever repairs are necessary to safely get back on the road. Every dollar raised will go directly toward fixing or replacing his car — giving Walter the peace of mind and mobility he deserves.
He would never ask for this help himself, but I know how much it would mean to him. If you’ve ever known someone who quietly shows up every day, no matter what life throws at them — that’s Walter. Let’s show him that he’s not alone.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity.
With gratitude,
Troy Clark
