Help Simba Get the Care He Deserves

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet dog, Simba. Two years ago, Simba lost vision in one of his eyes, and by last year, he had gone completely blind. It was a tough adjustment—he went through a period of depression, but in true Simba fashion, he pulled through. Despite everything, he returned to being his happy, goofy, tail-wagging self.

Unfortunately, we’re now facing another challenge. Over the past two weeks, Simba’s mobility in his back legs has significantly decreased. He struggles to stand up and sit down, and it’s heartbreaking to watch him fight through what seems like real discomfort and pain.

He’s already on monthly medications for his eyes, and now we’re anticipating the need for ongoing arthritis treatments as well. We took him to the vet on Thursday June 5th, and while his vitals, bloodwork, and ultrasound all came back normal, it’s clear that something deeper is going on. His vet suspects a more serious orthopedic issue, which means he’ll need X-rays under sedation and that testing alone is very expensive.

We want to do everything we can to get him the care he needs to be comfortable again, but the costs are quickly adding up. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his diagnostics, medications, and pain management.

Simba still has that beautiful spark in him—he eats well, drinks water, gets excited for treats, and perks up when we offer car rides or short walks where he can just lie down and sniff the breeze. He’s not ready to give up, and because of that, neither are we.
