Financial Support For College

Donation protected
Dear Family And Friends,

As some of you know I am heading off to Trinity Bible College August 19th, 2017 in hopes of preparing for full time children’s ministry. The Accelerate program that I am taking is a 5-year program to get my BA in 4 years, start the MA senior year, and finish it in year 5. The benefits of the program would require a 2.7 GPA or above. I would also like to go through college as debt free as possible and so I have a Financial need of $10,000 to get me through my freshman year at Trinity.

If each person gave just $100, it would only take 100 people to fill that need of $10,000.

Not only that, but I have received a very generous offer to match it with a $10,000 loan at 0% interest ONLY if I can raise a full $10,000 in support. That would take care of 2 years of college! In addition to this, the loan will be completely forgiven if I graduate in 5 years. Right now, I am at Trinity as a leap of faith and am waiting on God to provide.

Would you graciously enter into prayer for me as I go to Trinity to follow what God’s calling is for my life and if The Lord puts it on your heart to give your time for me in prayer and even financially.

Here is a portion of my story, and how I came to Trinity.

My spiritual journey began when I was four years old.  I gave my life to Christ one Sunday after my Sunday school teacher at Hosanna Free Lutheran, taught me about Jesus who died on the cross to take away my sins, rose from the dead and, ascended into heaven so that if I believe in Him I would be forgiven and get to live with Him in heaven forever.  Later that afternoon I asked my mother if she could pray with me about it and accept Jesus as my savior. As I grew more in knowledge of Jesus and the gospel, I decided it was time to get baptized as a public declaration of my faith in Jesus.

One day after I had turned eighteen and was still living with my parents, I decided that my life needed changing. I had quit school early, and as a teen, I was not giving God 100% of my life.

My mother suggested going to a men’s group at Salem Evangelical Free Church. So, I started going to the men’s group where I met Ben Pontius, who started inviting me to hangout and to come to his young adult ministry called “Threshingfloor”. Ben poured many hours and resources into mentoring and discipling me to be a leader and better man of God. One day he asked if I wanted to take the next step in my spiritual growth and become a leader in Threshingfloor, but before I could do so I had to let go of the sins and lies that I had been holding onto. I agreed and a little while later I met up at his apartment and I confessed my hidden sins and lies before God and Ben. Immediately as if a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders, I felt pleasantly light. I had been believing the lie that if anyone knew my sin and the things I had done, no one could love me! Released from Sin, I began to sense The Holy Spirit and His gifts, right away.

I started getting involved with various ministries and ended up going to Heartland Community Church, where the Pastors and their wives began to approach me about getting involved in the church. One of them asked me if I would like to be a Sunday school teacher, and after some prayer I replied and said that I would teach the 1st – 3rd graders.

While all this was going on I had been living with Ben and Kelly Pontius, continuing the discipleship I was receiving from him. One night they sat me down on the couch and had a talk about my unfinished school. They told me to man up, take the GED, and graduate. This was a huge blessing! (Proverbs 27:6) Also the Zaun Family from church were very encouraging in my process to take the GED. By God’s grace I passed all of the tests within 2 weeks and received my GED certificate! I am not adequate, but God is Adequate for me.

I taught Sunday school at Heartland for 2 years and have seen many kids give their lives to Christ! And some of them are even working through the gifts of The Holy Spirit! I am so thankful for the time God has given me at Heartland; it has been full of love, joy, and fruitfulness.

And now I feel that The Lord, through much prayer and confirmation is leading me to go to Trinity Bible College in Ellendale ND to take the Accelerate program saving me a year of time and a lot of money that would have been spent on tuition, including numerous scholarships that come with it. A month before I visited Trinity I spent some time in prayer and during that time I had a vision of Jesus opening 3 doors for me and pushing me through 1 of them… I believe that these 3 doors are the 3 tracks of pastoral ministry available in the Accelerate program! I also feel that God is calling me to be a children’s pastor!

This is how you can support me as I attend college:

·        Commit to praying that I would maintain a 2.7 GPA,  and raise $10,000 in support to gain the matched funds,

·        Send encouragement and wisdom through letters and email,

·        Giving money towards the $10,000 goal

I really appreciate all the prayers and support! And I am excited to be moving forward towards what God has planned for my life!

If you feel God leading you to support me in prayer or financially, please consider giving $100 or anything God has put on your heart to give.
