Help Patrick with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
For those of you who know my brother Patrick probably know that he has survived more than his fair share of life altering challenges in the last several years. You also probably know that despite everything, he is an upbeat and optimistic person with an infectious laugh and huge heart. Several years ago, Patrick was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right leg. He underwent surgery and had the bones in his thigh, knee and shin replaced with titanium, and 3 out of four of the major muscles in his thigh removed. It was a long and heart wrenching recovery for him and everyone who loves him. After almost a decade of being in remission, Patrick was given another challenge. The hardware in his leg is failing, causing him pain and difficulty walking. Patrick is scheduled to have a partial amputation called a rotationplasty on November 4th, 2021. The middle part of his leg will be removed, and the lower part of his leg will be rotated 180 degrees and reattached to his thigh. The idea is that his ankle will serve as a knee joint for a prosthetic leg. We are looking at 1-2 weeks in the hospital, and months of physical therapy and rehabilitation. With just 15 days’ notice, Patrick will not be able to work, pay rent, or do the normal daily activities that he is used to doing. We are asking for prayers and donations to help Patrick with medical bills, rent, and other expenses during this difficult time.
