Hey, y'all. Life got turned upside down last night. Water started coming up from the drain under the hot water heater. Sewage started coming up this morning. My apartment complex has handled the situation very poorly. This is on top of the fact that my rent has more than doubled in 4 years. I need to get out of this apartment that I've been in for 8+ years. Unfortunately, because of rent increases and life in general being more expensive I do not have much saved up for a deposit or moving expenses. I have a showing booked Monday, July 28 for an apartment that is less expensive and has a better property management company. The deposit is $1400, which includes the pet deposit. The application fee is $100. I'm trying to get out of this apartment as soon as possible. Any little bit helps.

Update 7/29 (WIP)

The past few days have been incredibly chaotic. Thankfully, mom was able to come up on Sunday afternoon and get the cats. They will be staying with her for the foreseeable future. Thanks, mom. She also booked me a hotel room for a few nights. I am able to stay with a friend from work after that.
