We are a small nursery in the heart of Dartford. We have staff that work all year caring for children through long days from 7:30am till 6:30pm. They have to care, feed, provide learning opportunities, and keep children safe all day everyday.

Each year we have parents kindly bring in a lot of chocolates, cakes, biscuits and gift boxes for Christmas. We share out all the gifts among staff by doing a draw. Previously we have received about 48 boxes of various gifts. We grouped the gifts into 12 groups of similar value and labelled the same with numbers from 1 till 12. Staff took out a draw of a number and got the group of gifts with that number.

This year we received a kind suggestion from a parent to start a contribution pot for Christmas for the staff.

Given the challenges of cost of living, we believe it would be great for staff to receive the money equivalent of the Christmas gifts to spend as they feel appropriate and need.

As they say, every little counts, your donations into this collection will be distributed equally to all our staff at the nursery. We are hoping that we collect about £2000 and distribute £100 to each of the staff by this Christmas.
