Christmas Fundraising Appeal

Partners for Progress will mark the fifth anniversary of its founding in March 2024. Over the past five years we have achieved an extraordinary amount given our small size and limited resources. Each year we have sponsored the education of between forty and fifty students at primary, secondary, college and university level. We have partnered with local community groups to construct a cultural heritage museum and community kitchen. We have also supplied important equipment to a rural medical post in support of the Nepalese governments aim of having all women give birth in a medical setting by 2030.

We have worked with the local government in Gandaki Province to support the establishment of a vocational agricultural college and have provided the college with specialist equipment and resources to ensure its education provision is of the highest quality. Over the five years we have paid the salary of a pre-school teacher at Hill Top Heaven Pre-school, ensuring that the children there get the best start to their education possible. We have also partnered with Nepalese-based charity Edulift to provide teacher training at Shree Jana Jyoti Secondary School and to run sessions on creativity, compassion, and critical thinking for the school’s students.

Despite being a small charity, Partners for Progress has partnered with Leweston School in Dorset, Devizes Rotary Club, Axmouth Parish Council, Chard Girls’ Brigade, Charmouth Junior Athletics Club, myriad local businesses, the Britain-Nepal NGO Network and many others to ensure we have the biggest and most positive impact we can on education and community development in rural Nepal.

This December we are partnering with Halcyon Motors, who have generously pledged to match all donations up to £1,000. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible during the month of December to help us continue having a meaningful impact in 2024.
