Helping Debra and Terrence with the new normal
Hello. My husband Terrence just came home after spending 363 days in the hospital and now that he is home I will be out of work with no pay to get him to appointments. Please see our story below. Thank you ❤️
363, thats the number of days Terrence was away from home. 52 of those days he was in a coma, 93 of those days he required a ventilator to breathe for him, 172 of those days he had a tracheostomy, 86 of those days he was unable to talk to communicate, 6 of those days he was in a special bed in the prone position, 150 of those days he was unable to eat or drink. In those 363 days he had chronic kidney failure, covid, valley fever, adult respiratory destress syndrome, pneumonia, respiratory failure, his heart stopped 19 times, and he was shocked a total of 26 times, his left leg was amputated below the , and he had numerous surgeries. I was told 4 times Terrence would not make it through the night, I was told 5 times that he was to sick to make it through all of this and was given less than a 3% chance to ever come home. I was asked 7 times if I wanted to sign a DNR and I was told twice I was letting my husband suffer. He was in 9 different hospitals or rehabs and met with countless doctors. Thousands of prayers and deals with god were made for today, we celebrate a miracle I was told wasn’t possible, Terrence came home ❤️ thank you for all of the prayers and to everyone who asked if we needed anything even if it was only to vent. Our journey isn’t over, there’s a long way to go but for today, we enjoy this moment.
