Saving Leo’s Life - A fur mamas worst nightmare
Donation protected
Update - 12/3 - I received a call from the vet earlier today. Leo is finally eating for the for the first time!! This is HUGE!! He is making small steps forward every day and everyone there is amazed by his strength and resilience through all the he has gone through!!
I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has shared, donated and spread the word to help me save my sweet boy!! Anyone who has ever met Leo will tell you he is an amazing, goofy, playful little 80lb lap dog who just wants all the love and attention he can get.
I was informed that we are exceeding $20,000 on the bill so far and there will be more added in the coming days. I know GoFundMe charges a fee; anyone who would like to donate outside of the GoFundMe can do so via Zelle or Venmo. My cell or email address can be used for both.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for rally together for my Leo. He did not deserve what happened to him. And I am so thankful for guardian angels bc without them, he wouldn’t still be here!
We never thought we’d be in a position where we would have to make a GoFundMe, but we are at a loss and don’t know where else to turn to…
On Wednesday night I received a frantic call from my parents that Leo had been shot while out for a walk and he was being rushed to the ER.
He was immediately taken in for an emergent 4.5 hour long lifesaving surgery and it was unknown if he was going to make it through the surgery or the first night.
The bullet entered through his ribs and passed through his lungs, his diaphragm, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and stomach. In the process, it shattered his ribs which had to be repaired and wired back together. 2 lung lobes needed to be removed and the holes closed to stop the bleeding in his lungs. 2 lobes from his liver had to be removed in order to prevent vascular complications and to stop the internal bleeding. His stomach, diaphragm, gallbladder and pancreas also needed surgical intervention due to damage from the bullet. He is still in critical condition at the ER vet and we are praying that he is strong enough to pull through.
The bills so far are amounting upwards of $20,000 and carrying the weight of everything myself, I have no idea how I’m going to pay for it all.
Leo doesn’t have a mean bone in his whole body. He loves everyone and everything. Anyone who has ever met him would tell you that. He just loves to be loved. Our boy is a fighter, but we need help to continue to fight for him and provide the medical attention he desperately needs.
Any help you could provide would make a world of difference in helping to save our Leo. If you cannot help monetarily, we would be so grateful if you could share the link and help spread the word. Every penny is going directly to his medical bills on behalf of Guardian Veterinary Specialists. PLEASE pray for my little boy
