Darwin Arabe...a friend for all seasons & reasons

HI, my name is Rene Posadas. Darwin was a friend on both sides of the Pacific Ocean and both sides of US and Canadian border. I first met Darwin when he was one of the hot shot engineers that started-up the Philippine Facility of Texas Instruments. He would drop by my office at the Training and Development department and never failed to bring a smile to anybody within earshot with his dry humor and sharp wit which was his way of ensuring that he accomplished whatever goal he came over for. Our friendship endured the years until we parted ways when we transplanted our families abroad. Busy raising a family of three in Seattle with my wife Sylvia, our focus was guiding and encouraging our children in their education for their future. Then like a beam of light from somewhere , Darwin sent me an email asking where I was based to which I replied ; " Just north of Seattle "! He informed me that he lives just across the border with Canada in the city of Surrey BC. I invited him over so we could catch up and would expect him with his family that Saturday. Ten minutes after ending our excited conversation, Darwin called me back saying Edith Fernandez, Oann Tadena Frondozo and Lai Bautista all former Texas Instruments employees want to come over as well with their spouses. "Of course, I replied! Woot! Woot! " My house was packed and so happy that weekend with our never-ending laughter, never-ending cooking by our ladies, never-ending reminiscing of our funny escapades as we all built Texas Instruments from the ground up to the giant in the semiconductor industry it is today. That rekindled friendship and bond endures today and this is true for all former TIers anywhere in the world.

Darwin didn't just add color to my regimented life, he unloaded entire cans of paint of many shades of happiness...of friendships made and renewed that burns bright in so many corners of the world as we in our own little ways, treasure and nurture our bonds with each other; more so in our golden years. Thanks to you Darwin. Already I miss you, my friend. Rest in Peace in God's eternal embrace.

I am starting this fund raiser for our friend Darwin who passed all too sudden. We are separated by miles, borders, oceans and even countries but our kinship prevails over time and space. After hearing the news of Darwin's passing, I have had many queries how you can help and after discussions with our Canadian friends, this is the best way we can show a helping hand and stand by the side of his family , his son Jedrek and wife Yolanda (Yodee) Arabe .
