Help Luna with Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Adriana! My mom rescues dogs and Luna has been quite the character which has led to an emergency visit and surgery and we need help.
(11/29)
Her story: We found her in an abandoned house, she was malnourished no water and no food when found. She seemed to recently have babies, we think these people took her babies and left her to die but we didn't find them. She is skittish and often tries to run away no matter how hard we try and keep her safe. She is sweet and loves people but a sudden noise can send her running for her life. She has moments where she wants to be with people but won't let anyone touch her by fear. Because of her frantic attitude and pursuit of running away we have been unable to find her a home. My mom has found about 8 dogs a home but Luna has stayed with us for a year.
What Happened: Luna has a habit of running away, we've tried everything to stop it but she always finds a way. She digs holes, and will jet to the door randomly. She always comes back, but this time she came back with a really bad dog bite from a German Shepard in the neighborhood. She has two punctured holes right now, one is a big hole under her belly, potentially through her abdomen. We went to urgent care and they said she needs to go to an emergency vet immediately. She needs surgery tonight.
My ask: The estimated bill is $2000, I'm asking for assistance because this isn't something that my family can manage alone. Luna has been through so much, and we want to give her the best chance to heal, who knows what this poor baby has been through. Asking for help is uncommon for us, my mom always manages to put stuff together but this is more than we can handle. Any contribution will help her. Thank you for considering helping us in this urgent situation.
I will keep y'all updated on her status.
(11/30) UPDATE: Hello everyone. The support has been overwhelming we are filled with a lot of gratitude. ❤️ Luna came home this morning, the surgery went well. I am at work right now so I don't have all the details but I will update more around 5pm. The bill came out to be $1254, a lot less than expected. However, we have to go back monday because of the area her injury is in there's a possibility of infection or it tearing. I will keep y'all updated. Thank you again.

Hi! Back home. Luna's surgery went great(::. She's on three medications right now and has a drain. We have to go back Monday to make sure she's recovering well. Again, thank you all so much who took the time to read, share, and donate. I will update on Monday.❤️❤️❤️

(12/3) EMERGENCY UPDATE: Hi all, yesterday morning (12/2) my mom rushed Luna to the hospital after seeing that her drain was not working, her leg looked a little too swollen and the smell of blood filled the room. Unfortunately, Luna needed to undergo another surgery due to the area becoming significantly infected. They told us this was a possibility due to the area of the wound and bacteria from the dog itself when he bit her. There was nothing we could do.
Unfortunately, this means an extra +$1017.60 to our cost. I will provide the receipts below. We managed to get to $1254 for her first surgery. We are asking for your continued help to reach $2000.
GOOD NEWS IS: Luna is looking a lot better. She is wagging her tail, more conscious and is begging for attention. Thank god for my moms instincts for bringing her in before Monday like instructed. We are hoping the antibiotics and bandage will prevent further spread of infection.
Receipts:

Thank you again for the continued support! We appreciate each and every one of y'all who has supported us through your kind words, sharing, and donating.
