Surgery & Recovery ❤️ For Shia David Stewart

Hey Friends and Family!
It’s been a little while since our last update so I just wanted to take the time to give a rough recap on our situation and current standings. Shia was born on February 23rd, 2024. He was born premature at 36 weeks and had gastroschesis. (Gastroschesis is when the baby is born with its intestines on the outside.)
He had to have a silo to allow his intestines to slowly move back into his body, then an operation to close the opening. We ran into a few complications 8 weeks after the operation. He had a blockage, and needed around 4-6 inches of his intestines removed, as well as his colon cleaned and repaired. This was done the 10th of May. We are now waiting for his bowels to properly function, and hopefully introduce feeds within the next few weeks. It will all depend on Shia. Some babies take longer to feed than others. We first anticipated to be here for 3 months, but since we’ve ran into set backs and complications, it looks to be we will be here at least another 2 months.
We will never be able to fully express how much we appreciate all of the love and support received so far, and we have tremendous gratitude for all of those that have been with us in spirit and prayer throughout our journey. Let’s all hope and pray this chapter will come to a very happy end soon. Until then, we still very much need all of the support we can get. Please continue to share our GoFundMe and please donate if you’re able. This unexpected journey has been rough on our family, but we wouldn’t have been able to survive without y’all. Thank you all for everything! We love you all and we are eternally grateful. Y’all are a testament to our faith in humanity..
Sincerely,
Tori, David, Clair, Shia
